The Organisation

The Australian Self-Medication Industry (ASMI) is the peak Industry body representing the non-prescription products industry. The industry is growing due to the importance of health and wellbeing in Australia. ASMI is a strong advocate for self-care.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to drive public relations, external communications and social media in order to expand and refine ASMI's public profile. 

Supporting ASMI's government affairs strategy through involvement with stakeholders, including the stakeholder management subcommittee, is a key requirement.

The role requires tailored communications on ASMI's increasing political activities.

Reviewing and refining the social media strategy, and the associated suite of activities, is crucial. 

Lead the communications strategy for ASMI's annual conference and brief ASMI spokespeople prior to media interviews.

About You

Success in the role requires high level verbal and written communications skills gained from 5 years' experience in similar roles.

Direct experience in healthcare is preferred.    

You will be tertiary qualified in communications, PR or journalism, and possess project management skills.

You have a strong news sense and, as an all-rounder, can deliver a range of communications including media releases, digital, social, web based, newsletters, and other collateral such as media kits.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as demonstrated initiative, flexibility, energy, and willingness to collaborate, are essential qualities.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Flexible working arrangements will be considered depending on experience.
