1 August 2013 - Showcasing the best that the consumer healthcare industry has to offer, the 2013 ASMI Diamond Awards are now open for entry, with winners to be recognised on 14 November at the premier industry event of the year.

The awards, which are open to all members of the Australian Self Medication Industry (ASMI), will be presented at the 2013 ASMI Conference at the Waterview Convention Centre, Bicentennial Park in Homebush, Sydney.

As the leading program which recognises accomplishments in the consumer healthcare sector, the ASMI Diamond Awards champion the highest possible standards in responsible, innovative promotion of non-prescription products to consumers and healthcare professionals.

According to ASMI Marketing & Business Development Director, Filomena Maiese:
"As the benchmark of excellence, the ASMI Diamond Awards provide a showcase for best practice in the industry by recognising consumer healthcare launches, initiatives and campaigns which demonstrate the highest levels of strategic planning, creativity and business results.

"Above all, these awards celebrate campaigns that promote Quality Use of Medicines which truly help consumers make better choices about their health."
This year's award categories are:

  • Best Launch of a Consumer Healthcare Product
  • Best Marketing Campaign of a Consumer Healthcare Product - Large Budget (>$500,000)
  • Best Marketing Campaign of a Consumer Healthcare Product - Small Budget (<$500,000)
  • Best PR Initiative
  • Best Healthcare Professional Initiative

"For our members, an ASMI Diamond Award is a significant accolade. It provides them with the recognition they deserve for delivering outstanding healthcare initiatives to consumers and healthcare professionals.

The 2013 Diamond Awards will be judged by a panel of independent experts. The judging criteria will cover the nature of the campaign challenge, objectives, strategy, execution, results and overall contribution to health literacy. Entries close Friday 6 September 2013.
