Return Unwanted Medicines campaign

All Australian households are urged to clean out their home medicine cabinets and return all unwanted and expired medication to their local pharmacy for safe disposal.

The Return Unwanted Medicines (or RUM project) is a free way to dispose of unwanted or expired medicines responsibly via your local pharmacy.

  • Unsafe storage of unwanted or expired medicines can be dangerous
  • Unsafe disposal of unwanted or expired medicines can lead to environmental damage

RUM is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.
