Join ASMI

ASMI has two categories of Membership:
Ordinary Membership is held by manufacturers and sponsors of non-prescription consumer healthcare products - the full spectrum of those sometimes referred to as "over-the-counter" and those known as complementary medicines (such as vitamins, minerals, herbals). Ordinary Members' annual subscription is calculated from annual turnover in appropriate product categories.
Associate Membership in ASMI is held by agencies, firms, consultancies and companies which supply goods or services to our Ordinary Membership. Though Associates are not voting members, they do enjoy most of the other benefits of ASMI membership and are free to sit on subcommittees and teams. Associates' annual subscription is a flat fee.
Why Join ASMI?
Advocacy and Representation
ASMI has a seat on key committees including the Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council, the TGA Industry Consultative Committee, the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code Council and the Office of Complementary Medicines Industry Consultation Group. We provide an authoritative voice for the non-prescription consumer healthcare products industry in these forums and in Canberra at a regulatory and legislative level.
Industry Level Decision Making
Members of ASMI have access to industry decision making through our internal subcommittees and teams which cover regulatory, advertising, sales and marketing & ethics issues. The work of these subcommittees and teams contributes to policy, regulatory change and positioning. Other outcomes from this work include training & development programs, events and industry awards.
Timely Advice and Information
The ASMI Secretariat provides free consultation and advice for Members (within reasonable limits) from our regulatory, advertising and scientific experts.
Members receive regular newsletters, containing industry news and regulatory & scientific information from around the world. When important developments occur, ASMI issues newsflashes via email. The Members-only areas of the website contain a wealth of regulatory, industry and marketing information.
Networking
ASMI Members can meet their peers, suppliers and service organisations at events throughout the year. The ASMI Annual Conference regularly attracts over 250 delegates from across the consumer healthcare industry. Executive Round Tables provide an opportunity to meet key figures, including politicians and regulators, in a small forum. Regular events such as Member Dinners and ad hoc gatherings occur in both Melbourne and Sydney.
We can provide you with a pack of information describing the benefits of Membership and would be happy to make a company visit to discuss Membership with your management team.
