ASMI Panel of Mediators
ASMI has appointed a Panel of Mediators, selected both for their expertise as mediators and for their long experience in the therapeutic goods industry. Their names and profiles are available here.
The idea sprang from a desire to encourage settlement of claims of breach of the ASMI Code of Practice. However, where direct negotiation fails, Members are encouraged to seek to resolve all their differences with each other and with non-Members by mediation, irrespective of the nature of the dispute.
Mediation is a “without prejudice”, voluntary and private dispute resolution process, in which a neutral person (the mediator) helps the parties to reach a negotiated agreement. It is also as confidential as the law will allow. Mediation may occur prior to or simultaneously with Complaints Panel proceedings, arbitration or litigation.
